1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Race / Street Car

The brief was simple ‘A no compromise, beautiful, street legal race Mustang’. Quite simply this is one of the finest examples of a race prepped street legal Mustang that you will find anywhere in the world.

The body was completely stripped of every last nut & bolt, it was then soda blasted back to bare metal. We then spent 1500 hours making the body even better than the day it rolled out of the factory, every panel has been given endless attention to make sure it was right, the lines of the car are second to none.

It’s the small details that make this car different such as the hand made aluminium bonnet scoop & the rear bumper we de-chromed, welded up the bolt holes and painted the same colour as the car, look at how well the front air scoop flows into the lines of the body, and how the high visability rain light replaces the spot where the filler cap used to reside. The rear screen was replaced by a custom made Acrylic vented version which was heated over the original glass to achieve the correct two way contour but at a fraction of the original weight.

The interior is pure race car, Four point race harnesses hold you in the Kirkey Aluminium seats which earned their reputation on the banks of Nascar circuits all over the USA, they grip you like your life depends on it.

The custom aluminium switch panel sits between the seats & houses the push button start, battery master switch & all the other vehicle controls including Line Lock.

The engine is a race built 302 Ford, Dyno’d at 385bhp with a four barrel Holley, the engine now has a Tecalemit Jackson fuel injection system ready to squeeze even more power from the motor, with it it has to be one of the best looking Mustang engine bays ever. Cooling is handled by a custom made twin fan equipped aluminium radiator with a Mocal Oil cooler below. The fuel is housed in an ARP fuel cell fed with Aeroquip hosing. Once we were happy with the build we took the car apart and covered it in Wimbledon White, a single red stripe with a yellow & black pinstripe finished it off, the complete car was then sealed in three coats of clear laquer.

We hope you agree that what we have now is one very special car.
